Long Research is run by Long Yi, working full-time on AI safety and AI for good. The goal is straightforward: figure out what's actually happening inside AI systems, build honest ways to measure whether they're behaving as intended, and contribute to the mechanisms — technical and institutional — that keep increasingly capable AI systems safe.
I grew up in Beijing until college.
I studied computer science and neuroscience at Brandeis University.
After graduating, I worked as a database software engineer at Roblox.
I later co-founded a Y Combinator–backed startup and served as CTO.
I believe AI safety and AI for good are among the most important problems of our time. I left my job to commit to them full-time.
